Started in Milano / Ended Up in Beverly Hills
Our Story
Ritmo Mundo was established in 2002, driven by a pursuit of independence and a departure from the watch industry’s conventionality. In a market characterized by the scarcity of classic designs, high-quality state-of-the-art components, and a commitment to value, Ritmo Mundo emerged as a pioneering force. Our primary objective was to create watches that exuded a distinctive sense of style.
Our inception involved delving into the realm of watch history, art, and architecture literature. Meticulous sketches, meticulously sourced components, and rudimentary prototypes underwent rigorous testing before a Milanese factory in Italy brought the inaugural Ritmo timepiece to fruition in 2002. This was an era predating the widespread presence of social media, e-commerce, and luxury retail platforms. Ritmo Mundo’s foundation was established through extensive global travel, traditional brick-and-mortar sales, and the enduring appeal of print advertising.
Through unwavering dedication, relentless effort, and infectious enthusiasm, Ritmo experienced substantial growth, reaching new heights by 2004. Over the years, we cultivated a reputation for crafting bold, vibrant, and inspiring timepieces that garnered global recognition.
In 2026, Ritmo Mundo continues its evolution, pushing the boundaries of watchmaking by embracing emerging trends and cutting-edge technology. Our unwavering commitment to leading and reshaping the watch industry remains steadfast. We take pride in crafting bold, personal, and powerful timepieces that harmoniously blend the relaxed California lifestyle with the traditional and often antiquated craftsmanship of watchmaking. Join us on our journey as we navigate the ever-evolving landscape, unveiling new collections that embody our passion for innovation, timeless elegance, and the vibrant spirit of California living in the years to come.
Our Founder: A Visionary in Timepieces
Our Founder, Ali Soltani, is a true icon in the watch industry. His remarkable journey spans over five decades, marked by a successful career as a lawyer, Beverly Hills Rodeo Drive store owner, and elected President of the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce.
Raised in Beverly Hills, Mr. Soltani pursued higher education at UCLA and Loyola Law School. After graduating, he embarked on his legal career at Sulmeyer, Kupetz, Baumann, & Rothman, specializing in bankruptcy and business law.
Mr. Soltani’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to partner with his father and brother to acquire Beverly Hills’ esteemed retailer, David Orgell. In collaboration with his family, he provided the requisite leadership and direction to ensure the company’s thriving operation.
As a successful retailer, Mr. Soltani cultivated a deep understanding of the marketplace and recognized the demand for a fun, colorful, and affordable watch. He also recognized the growing trend of “watch wardrobing,” where individuals maintain an assortment of watches alongside their clothing and accessories.
Today, as we celebrate our 24th anniversary in 2026, our brand is committed to providing value-driven timepieces with distinctive flair. By adhering to this philosophy, we strive to maintain our market share and stand out in an ever-evolving industry.
Ali Soltani’s unwavering passions for racing, sports, and love have driven him and his team for the past two and a half decades. With a unique micro-perspective that remains attuned to global consumer trends, Ali has embarked on a journey that has taken him to over 100 countries. This extensive global experience has enabled him to establish Ritmo Mundo as a preeminent niche brand, extending its reach beyond the traditional domains of watches and jewelry to encompass sports, architecture, and contemporary aesthetics.
